32" w x 22" h, Original monotype in oil on paper. Matted & framed by artist, Sharon Whitham. Part of a series she's working on related to climate change and its effects on birds. This is a Baltimore Oriole which is balanced precariously on a wire to symbolize the risks of climate change to its current habitats, nesting areas and migration patterns. It has begun shifting north. Their populations are slowly declining and their habitats and food sources are changing. Heat waves, wildfires and intense downpours are adding to this risk.
